- Welcome Tea - Coming this Spring Download Flyer
This is an annual event which is usually sponsored by the youngest Las Madres group and introduces and welcomes the new moms into the Las Madres fold.
These events are planned by individual groups usually during the bimonthly business meetings. Some of these events are subject to change sometimes at the last minute because of weather or children's illness etc. so it is always advisable to call and confirm the scheduled activity.
Group Activities
- Field Trips and Tours
Visit fun places like Happy Hollow Park, Children's Discovery Museum, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pumpkin Patch, local fire stations and more.
- Arts and Crafts
Finger paints, cut and paste, making Valentine cards or decorating bags, and other seasonal crafts which are age appropriate.
- Mom's Night Out
Also called MNO which is a special treat for Moms and is very popular and a fantastic benefit of joining the group. It gives the moms a well deserved break to relax in the company of other moms and have a wonderful time. MNOs are usually planned once a month and could be either a dinner out, a movie, shopping, spa days, ceramic painting, or just meeting at a coffee place for the evening.
- Baby Sitting Co-op
Join a group if you wish where members exchange free baby-sitting services. "Baby Bucks" are used instead of money for time spent baby-sitting.
- Family Potlucks and Barbecues
These events are organized for the benefit of the entire family and are a great opportunity for the spouses to meet other families. These events may be organized to celebrate a holiday or for no reason at all.
- Couples Night Out and Dad's Night Out
Once in a while the groups have a Couples Night Out, which is a chance for the parents to socialize with other parents without the kids, so book your baby-sitters in advance! Dad's-Night-Outs give the spouses a chance to get together for pizza or anything else they choose to do.
- Community Support
It is our way of giving back to the community. We donate clothing, baby items, toys, time or simple friendship. In the past Las Madres has donated thousands of dollars to support various charity organizations in our local community.
